massage treatment room - Medical Massages

More than relaxation.

We also specialize in pain & injury to help you feel better.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage is a term that refers to special techniques used when massage is part of the overall treatment of medical problems stemming from trauma to the body.  This form of massage is often, but not always, done under the instruction of a physician and most often involves billing commercial insurance. In the case of work-related injuries or auto injuries, a physician’s referral or prescription for massage is likely required, and treatment focuses on addressing the affected area(s).

Your therapist will conduct a thorough health intake during each massage session and develop a treatment plan to provide you with the most appropriate treatment for your injury.  We will document progress and work closely with other health care providers to ensure you receive the best care possible.

Your massage may include advanced myofascial techniques, deep tissue techniques, relax and contract techniques, and post-isometric relaxation techniques on the affected muscles and joints.

Billing Services

Massage therapy can be a self-referral service or may require a physician to provide a prescription for you – please check with your insurance provider. You are responsible for any co-payments at the time the service is rendered. Licensed massage therapists at this location may ask that you know your own benefits prior to scheduling with them.

If you have recently been in an auto accident or involved in a work-related injury, please read below for more information on scheduling massage therapy services for post-accident rehabilitation and injury recovery. Also visit our Car Accident Information page for more information on scheduling for acupuncture after a motor vehicle accident.

Workers Compensation Massage

If you have been injured on the job and you have any muscle aches, pains, sprains or strains, manual therapy should be a part of your medical care.
So the big question is what is the process to get workers’ compensation to cover your work related injury?

Steps to receive authorization for medical massage treatment:

1. Notify your employer about injury. The employer should make the injury report.

2. Contact the medical doctor to get the prescription for manual therapy so that it will be included as a part of your treatment plan.

3. Contact the claims adjuster on your medical claim to inform them about your injury and your doctor’s prescription for manual therapy.

4. Present the prescription to us and we will be happy to get authorization from your worker’s compensation insurance for manual therapy as a part of your treatment plan.

Please email us the name, phone number and claim number of your claim to info@loveacu.net

5. Once we receive the necessary authorization from your workers’ compensation insurance, we will contact you to schedule your appointments.

Prenatal/Pregnancy Massage

All of our wonderful licensed massage therapists offer prenatal and pregnancy massage therapy services. Massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques. Our massage therapists offer techniques such as Swedish massage and deep tissue massage on specific parts of the body that are safe for the baby.

Some benefits of prenatal massage include reduced back and joint pain, improved circulation, reduced edema, reduced muscle tension and headaches, reduced stress and anxiety, improve oxygenation of soft tissues and muscles, and lead to better sleep.

Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and even improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Evidence strongly suggests that there are maternal and newborn health benefits when therapeutic massage is incorporated into regular prenatal care.
